We had such a great workshop on Saturday 9th November for Survivors and their Supporters called
“Tackling Triggers Together” A Workshop On Finding Confidence Around Shame, Feeling Overwhelmed, Sexuality, And Loneliness For Survivors Of Sexual Abuse And Their Supporters.
Thank you so much to everyone who came and who was so open and generous with their experiences.
A Massive thank you as always to the team who did a brilliant job facilitating Kasia, Sophie, Cheryl, Suzette, Rachel and Leasa and of course Sadie who was our Supervisor for the workshop.
We had some lovely feedback including:
A really great experience to do as a couple – it has helped both of us to increase understanding and how to move forward. It has created conversation between us already over the past 45 minutes. Thank you!
Feel more confident to deal with specific issues-the practical guidance was incredibly useful.
Thank you so much for today. It has been incredibly helpful and empowering.
The techniques for managing triggers were really great! I have lots of triggers and have clients who also struggle. Some of the techniques I already use, thank you for broadening this for me….It was lovely to hear from all of you experts and have information shared.
Rebecca’s part most helpful – the combination of sharing her own experiences with the practical advice was really helpful. Her approach is really relatable and I personally found the story of how into the light was formed really inspiring.
I was nervous about attending and the prospect of break out rooms, but the facilitator and the rest of the people in my group made it a comfortable and safe space to talk. Thank you so much for running these workshops, they’re incredibly useful and important for survivors and those that support survivors and more is needed like this! The content is really accessible and easy to understand and I like that difficult topics are discussed but in a sensitive non-triggering way….I plan to have either written down in my purse or on my phone a reminder of steps I can take when I am feeling dysregulated. I want to write a new contract to myself that shows the new beliefs I have around my sexuality.
Thanks so much to you and your colleagues for such a great course. I attended both as a survivor and a professional so was initially a little concerned as to how I would feel or respond. I needn’t have worried though as I felt the topic was handled and delivered sensitively and positively. The handouts are brilliant too.
Our next workshop will be in April 2025 – keep an eye on the website for more details!
